Buyer’s Guide

Some useful information to help you when buying a new home and contacting sellers.

At the Viewing

At the viewing you should always remember that you have been allowed into someone elses home and treat it accordingly. You should also take the opportunity to ask as many questions as possible that are important to you. i.e.

  • What is the local schooling like?
  • Are there any local facilities, e.g. shops, clubs, restaurants or pubs etc?
  • What are the neighbours like?
  • Is there access links nearby for transport routes nearby?
  • Bus and train, school bus timetables if necessary?

Equally as important are questions about the Vendor themselves?

  • Where are they looking to go to?
  • Have they found a property yet?
  • What timeframe are they hoping to move to?
  • Have they got finances and Solicitors in place?

The more information you AND the vendor can trade about what it is you require the better. This will give you a broader picture about what is suitable for you as the buyer and will aid you in making an informed decision. You can then move onto the next stage.
